Anupama Vedachala is an internationally acclaimed bonsai artist from Bengaluru, India, with over 30 years of dedicated practice in this ancient art form. She founded Vedaavan, a bonsai studio in Bengaluru focused on developing and promoting the craft.


Pioneering Educator: 

  • She conducts workshops, exhibitions, and seminars globally. 

  • She was invited as a speaker and demonstrator at Lucknow Bonsai Summit (2020).

  • She was Invited to a Bonsai Master Class in Brazil (2020).

  • She participated in Black Scissors Live with 70 worldwide artists. 

  • She was a demonstrator at the WORBAC 2026 convention held in Xinyi, China. 

Anupama also trains graduates and postgraduates at GKVK Agricultural University and leads skill training under Skill India. 
Recently featured by the Indian Bonsai Association for demonstrations. 


Anupama has been invited by Bonsai clubs like the Indian Bonsai Association, New Delhi, Indore Bonsai Club, Madhya Pradesh, Shrishti Mysore club, Coimbatore bonsai club, Vamana Vriksha Udamalpet club, Nisarga Isiri Bonsai Club, Mandya, Bonsai Paradise, Lucknow, Chennai Exotica Club, Chennai and also conducted a lot of workshops at Vriksha bonsai circle, Bengaluru.

She has a global Demonstrations & Collaborations assisting masters like Nacho Marin (Venezuela) and Pedro Morles (USA). 

Prestigious Awards & Recognitions:

  • 1st Prize, Photo Panel Award (South India) for Ficus Virens at All India Bonsai Convention, Vadodara. 

  • 2nd Prize, Penjing Category; led team to BCI Award for Best Display, International Convention, Mysore (2016). 

  • Curator and Key designer for Bengaluru's Lalbagh Bonsai Garden project, featuring over 100 specimens aged 80- 100 years.
